5 Things I’d Like to Say to Canada’s National Team
I cannot even imagine what you are feeling. Although, you could tell a little bit by the looks on your face when the scores came out, I am sure that only scratches the surface of the emotions running through you.
I know this will come as little consolation for you, but I wanted to share my thoughts with you.
I am proud of you as are so many fellow Canadians. Proud of your dedication, commitment, sacrifice, hard work, effort, passion, unwillingness to give up, strength, improvement, and courage.
You truly inspired us. Inspired us to do our best, inspired us to push right to the end, you inspired us to be proud Canadians. I cannot remember the last time I got this excited about watching an event. YOU GUYS DID THIS. You caused of wildfire of excitement and support for YOUR TEAM across Canada and the world.
You did everything you could. You left it in the pool. You had amazing performances and that is what you control. YOU DID IT.
We stand by you and we will be here to support you in the next step whatever it may be.
Most importantly, take time to celebrate what did go well. What were the wins? Yes, you wanted to qualify team for the Olympics, but beyond that, you guys did some amazing stuff. Celebrate the little wins too. You deserve those wins.
Thank you for everything.
Yours in Synchro,
We were excited too, a bunch of excited synchro judges in Alberta, we watched it on a HUGE screen at Kinsmen pool before panel meetings…love you Team Canada
So much support for the team. Awesome that you were able to watch it with everyone at the competition.
Thank you for sharing this very important message Vanessa. We all shared this heartbreak with them. They are beautiful, strong, courageous young women who represented our Country and made us proud.
You’re welcome. I haven’t felt a synchro heartbreak in a longtime.
